With only a few modifications the UNI-MECHANICS
40 and the H-TRAINER have been converted to produce a
convincing electric helicopter. The power system
is based on a high-performance ULTRA H motor with an efficient
radial cooling fan built onto the rear end. The
fan keeps heat build-up within reasonable limits, so that the
cooling-off period between flights can be minimised
or even eliminated. 24 NC cells provide the power; the batteries
must be capable of withstanding severe loads.
Flight times are shown in the table; they depend largely on the
pilot's flying style and the weight of the model.
The motor and the batteries are matched accurately to the
mechancis with the result that the TRAINER E
possesses virtually the same flying characteristics and potential as
the H-TRAINER with glow motor. This is genuine
hélicopter flying - i.e. genuine fun!
