Product information

The contents of the popular GRAUPNER/HEIM UNI-MECHANICS 2000 have been revised, and a number of detail features upgraded. Various gearbox reduction ratios can be used to set up the system to cater for a very wide range of motors, model sizes and main rotor diameters. 10:1 reduction ratio. For standard .60 two-stroke motors and rotor diameters around 150 cm, and for .91 motors with rotor diameters around 180 cm.
9:1 reduction ratio. For high-torque, high-performance .60 two-stroke motors and rotor diameters around 150 cm, with the aim of reducing noise.
7.7:1 reduction ratio. For high-torque .91 two-stroke motors and rotor diameters around 150 cm;where minimum noise is essential. 6.8:1 reduction ratio. For .91 four-stroke motors and rotor diameters around 150 cm. The vast range of possible variations in terms of different motors and main rotor diameters now makes it sensible to supply the basic mechanics kit without those parts which determine the main rotor reduction ratio. This gives the builder the opportunity to assemble those components individually to suit the selected model and motor, without valuable parts from the basic kit being left unused. This wide range of possible variants means that the UNI-MECHANICS 2000 set is now only available in kit-form; this makes sense in any case since most helicopter pilots prefer to assemble their mechanics themselves. When the mechanical system is used in conjunction with one of the many fuselage kits available separately, the result is a sophisticated, up-to-date model helicopter, whether you prefer a training machine, an aerobatic helicopter for competition work, or a scale or semi-scale model of a full-size, man-carrying helicopter. In each case the model you produce will have a very low all-up weight due to the use of high-strength, vibration-absorbing, glass fibre reinforced nylon parts, and will therefore have the advantage of a generous reserve of power. The outstanding design features of the GRAUPNER/HEIM UNI-MECHANICS 2000 system include the following: Mechanical assembly based to the greatest possible extent on vibration-absorbing, non-fati-guing, high-strength glass fibre reinforced nylon. Two-stage main gearbox with machined Delrin gears for high efficiency and good durability. Interchangeable gears allow the builder to adjust the gearbox reduction ratio to suit different model sizes and main rotor diameters, and achieve a very quiet helicopter by running the motor at low speed for a given main rotor speed. High-efficiency fan for optimum motor cooling. "In-line" silencer arrangement in the sub-struc-ture of the mechanics, allows slim fuselage designs, and is ideally suited to rear-exhaust motors; can also accommodate side-exhaust motors. Servos installed immediately below the swashplate, providing rigid, direct, zero-slop control system linkages; three-point and four-point linkages possible. Fully ballraced mechanics, thrust bearings in main and tail rotor, auto-rotation freewheel with solid steel hub and centration. Precision control response: all mixing is carried out by the transmitter electronics ("CCPM" system). Outstanding accessibility to all essential components; easy to repair and maintain.

UNI MECHANIK 2000

Pack contents

Kit-form mechanics incl. tail rotor, detailed building instructions in German, English and French, glowplug connection, fueltank (approx. 570 ml capacity), fuel filter, fuel tubing, starter adaptor and extension, pushrods, GRP tail rotor blades, small parts. Not included: main rotor blades, centrifugal clutch, taper collet, clutch bell with pinion and ring gear for the first gearbox stage; these parts must be purchased separately; list the components required by referring to the table. To operate the model you will need a radio control system equipped with special helicopter facilities, or a micro-computer radio control system such as the mc-14, mc-15, mc-16/20, mc-22 or mc-24. The minimum requirement is a radio control system with 3-point swashplate mixer and five directly accessed servos for the functions pitch-axis, roll, collective pitch, tail rotor and throttle.
