Online-support build-up.  Page  12        Extra Fuel Capacity.

...
I wanted extra flight time so I decided to add two tanks side saddle nearest to the balance point of
the mainshaft. This also allowed me to move the radio box below so I can remove the glow plug
without haveing to take anything apart! I started with these mounts made from 3/16 inch ply and
some  standard size fuel tanks (available from Graupner).

...
Test fit then CA glues into place and then painted with two part paint to match.

...
While I had everything apart, I added a Venom temp gauge which records the highest reaading during
the flight . No more guessing! Gauge loop is cinched just under cooling head with probe 90 degrees
to the exhaust port.

...
The co pilot side feeds the pilots side tank and then ends up at the header tank which is mounted
at carb height.

Well I just have to add the shroud back and we are done.
We now have over 20 min. of flight time easy, with great
glowplug access. Testing indicates that everything works
fine and the new 20/20 power master fuel really smoothes
out this power plant. The best part is the CG remains
unchanged as you burn fuel.

Taken down for paint work... We may do a non-scale , wild paint scheme
this time... as we are also building the Turbine version. After building
as many ships as I do, sometimes you just gotta go wild!
"Heli's gone wild" :)

Cockpit is stored in plastic bags along with other parts and screws until
the re-assembly.

In the meantime.... I have created this with mechanics using the Uni-Star 90
boom set... it's a curved wire drive just the fuselage kit so we can further
dial in and "exercise" the mechanics while it's outer layer is getting makeover.

I call it the Graupner"Gator"

...
Based on the UNI-2000 with O.S. 91 motor. 10:1 ratio, blade disc is 1800mm+
Tail blades are 140 mm, mains are 825mm. Uses the Uni-Star 90 boom kit to
create this HUGE Pod and Boom model that weighs  under 10 pounds.
Hover rpm is 1200- 1300 with scale sound so real it's incredible! Smoke output is
very subdued due to newer fuel used. Power Master 20/20 YS  is the fuel used and
the link can be found here. How does it fly? Very, Very fast and quiet... the ultimate
trainer for scale manuevers.Light and agile with plenty of power on tap without
turning unrealistic head speeds. Overall a winner!

The blade span can really be seen in the last two pics... very scale
flight characteristics along with a great sound!
