scale cowl latches ... here's how!

The latches are
made from .015 alu sheet, I cut the shape according to latch needed.
Many must
be made exactly the same , using the original as a template. We then
make the first
bends.

The bracket is
then bent slightly and then all the way over to form the first part of
the latch.

All painted
up and ready for stage two.... The U shaped pieces will form the second
part of
latch, they will
be trimmed with sciccors to achieve a good fit, sand to shape.
It is also important
to sand all the pieces before bending to get good glue adhesion.

JB Weld used
to glue pieces together and on to the model.

Here we have
the finished results, we add bolts to give a scale look and all done!
approx 15-20
hours to produce 12 latches.
