Landing light
bay area, there are two lights, like I said
before, there
are usally two to do!
Light semi- extended.
Light fully extended
and on.
..
Close up of light
and reference shot, scale is perfect as per full size!
It will look
superb when they drop with gear!

FRRetracted position
up and away.

This is how it
works, the whole system weighs less than an ounce. A hollow alu rod rides
on brass bushes(5/32"
tube) bedded into hard balsa blocks, spare servo arms glue to sanded
portion of shaft
(1/8" dia) with stabilt express glue. works great!!!
The center arm
ties into the main control for the retract servo that is to be mounted
up front now
to accomodate the fully scale nose wheel assembly that is coming soon.
I will
go over lighting install with part numbers and how to get em asap!
The lights will
have 2800 candlepower and turn on when lowered via electrical
relay to reciever.
Those are standard airplane E-Z connectors to hook up and adjust
light pushrods.
Everything gets hidden under cockpit floor.
Kevlar/carbon
can be seen here in floor/prototype only .
In order to save
some filler and paint weight on the balsa skins,
I chose to metal
tape them instead and the results are great.
Metal up front
on little door, sanded 2 nd door, and 3 rd door
is primered in
foreground.
Here is a better
shot of finished inner doors.
More to come...
