Optional procedure:
sliding rear doors... here is just one way of doing it.
. .
..
.
Here are some bits of brass I will use to create a scale sliding
door system. Here you see
a brass channel that has been heated and formed into the slider jamb. Some
minor sanding
is needed to make it fit just right.
.,
,
.
.
Silver solder is
used for strength. Small angles are soldered to outer egdes of channel
to create this track.Lots of patience is need to from right angles since
they want to twist.
I keep at it with a flat plier to straighten, stretch and shrink the angle
into shape. Then
I join them carefully using only enough heat to get it done.
.
. . ..
Fully scratched
up for gluing , I JB Weld the track into place... I have to order some
"H"
-channel to create the actual slider that the rotating hinges will
mount to on the doors.
Such is the price to be paid to be "scale".
