Modellsport AS-350b Turbine 2.3m continued page 2

Ok, at this point both main doors are hung ont he scale hinges from page one.
BVM aeropoxy is injected in all areas where hinges and latches go to stiffen these
areas and prevent stress cracking in the future.

......
Here are the scale latches that operate off the outside handles, inner handles can be added later with ease.
These attach with set-screw for easy removal for painting or adjustment.

......
The finished installation of door handles, BVM glue can be seen here as well as the hinge area.

The rear door is a slider, in this case a faux slider. Graupner
glider canopy releases are used to pin door in place and ply
groove a the top catches the door and aligns it.

Both doors hung, the rear door simply pops out for quick access when needed.
A faux slider track will be added. I chose this route as not to complicate form
vs. function as even though this model will have many details, I want it to be flier
friendly! (I.E. no paint chipping, no rattles,etc...) The whole assembly fits tight and
snugly.

......
The rear cowl now lifts in the correct way! Not being able to leave well enough alone, I added these bypass vents.

......
Since the boom is removable via the luggage door and six 4 mm bolts, I decided to make the stabs scale in their
mounting. The lower stab removes once the upper is unscrewed at the top. Two 8 mm carbon rods telescope
into carbon recievers mounted in the boom and run to the top of the vertical stab making it quite strong and flex
free. (the recievers form a bulkhead in the boom from top to bottom of boom.)

......
Here is the "proto-type" jet pipe I made for fitting... a stainless version is coming next. Note: there must be at
least 3 inches of straight tube with deviations before diverters or splits. This pipe will flow nicely without
raising the EGT's and look almost perfectly scale (close enough). I will redesign it once again !

......

This is the scale stroop-hook cradle that will mount on the belly soon and have electric hook mechanisim.
Some detail of attachments... Made from 7/32 and 5/32 brass pipe and silver solder.
