The Graupner/Heim Bell 230 kit (grp fin set optional shown) , CNC Milling process
ensures that all the guess work is eliminated. Mechanics will line up perfectly and
openings are pre-cut as well as pre fitted windows at the Graupner Factory.
Pitot tubes are molded right in as well as forward radar dome, aux. bypass scoops
are also present . This model can be fitted with fully scale retracts , but instead we
are building a scale "UT" utility version . Simpler, lighter and less equipment needed.

The quality of this fiberglass has to be seen Parts just pull out very easily!

The first step is to cut the windshield section to allow for easy mechanic installation and
removal. Wood tabs are used as per plan to attach with screws. All wood parts are
numbered for easy reference. Holes are pre marked or pre drilled.

I like to test fit the wood system dry , install retracts later will be easy if wanted, just cut the
holes and add bulkheads in wings when needed. All the nose gear stuff is in place, just
cut and add components at a later date.. We are keeping with UT version so the average
builder / pilot can have an awesome looking bird in no time flat...Time so far is about 3 hours.

I like to cut out these openings with a hot knife , scoops are easily cut away for added
cooling. I will add screens when I check fit windows.

After all pre fitting is done, I sand inside areas
with 100 grit to tooth glass for gluing. A good
wash gets all the dust out safely.
