Fuselage kit for UNI-MECHANICS 2000, UNI-EXPERT MECHANICS or STARLET 50.
Product information :
The Ecureuil AS 350 is a 6-seater multi-task helicopter built by the Aerospatiale company
(now Eurocopter). It was developed in the early 1970's, and in 1986 the AS 350 B version
was introduced, with a stronger gearbox and more powerful turbine. In addition to this basic
single-engined version twin-engined variants also exist (e.g. AS 355). The Ecureuil AS 350 B
is powered by a Turbomeca Arriel-1D shaft turbine with a rated take-off power of 693 SHP.
The maximum take-off weight of the machine is around 2 tonnes. The same helicopter is
distributed in the North American area under the name A-Star. It is capable of a maximum cruise
speed of 232 km/hr and a maximum speed of 272 km/hr. Our semi-scale model is designed to
a scale of 1:6.8. The white pigmented GRP fuselage is supplied with pre-cut machined window
openings and other apertures, and includes a large upper front opening through which
UNI-EXPERT MECHANICS or UNI-MECHANICS 2000 can be installed completely
assembled, including silencer. The mechanical system is then held in place by four screws in
the fuselage floor and two additional bracing points at the top. The tail rotor drive system is
based on a 2 mm Ø spring steel shaft, while the tail rotor control system exploits a cantilever
CFRP pushrod. GRP molded components include the top fuselage fairing, the fuselage tail
piece complete with vertical stabilizer, and the main fuselage itself. These parts are supplied
with a high-gloss white surface, so all that remains is to paint on the contrast colors and
apply the decals supplied. The motor is started from above using a hexagon starter
adaptor with freewheel, Order No. 1621.
