We have to provide for exhaust route, so I use the Graupner/Heim s.s. tail pipe...
Secured with 603 on muffler, we bolt in mechs , use a flashlight to located tail pipe
(witch is cocked off to side for now) then draw a line from where we see it to the seam.
Rough cut the hole, re-check and look down below for finished result. The extra space
allows for heat to escape. Perfect fit ! Excellent engineering on Heims part.

AIRBRUSH
SEQUENCE:
Since
the bird is almost ready, I thought I would prep the exhaust stacks that came
in the kit.
I trimmed
and primered them, sanded them with 320, tacked off and then started to lay
some paint.
Copper
, flat black, and exhaust metalizer is used. All testors paint. Copper goes
on first.

HShade
with black, comparison shows how much to shade, then blend in with the exhaust
metalizer
at high pressure, leaving only a slight line of copper showing lengthwise
.
Flat
clear when dry.
We are off to the "booth" for paint ...Be back in color!
