The main retracts are ground down on the corners to fit the inner contour of the wings,
it's only a little to clear the molding. I use 608 to secure the clevis only and then adjust
the ball end.

Heavy 80 grit paper to scuff the glass for good adhesion... 18 mm approx. clearance
from center of leg to outer skin edge.

The mains are glued in using epoxy/ballons rather than bolting them in. It is said
that if you damage the main unit chances are the shock will snap off the wing in either case.
I agree and so I followed the instructions, shims are placed under the tabs and glued
in after the first stage of glue is dry. we flip her over to do the bottom tabs on the wings.
two glue sessions needed here . I then use actetone to thin the glue for fuel proofing and
strength building as it seeps deep into the wood farther than regular viscosity will allow.

Fuel proof first with thin coat, before it dries build up with ballons in mix left over
and form fillets...less waste.
