                 Dauphin N-4 build-up
presented to you by  Sandy Alan Squitieri  .PAGE 3

                                      ..
I use micro ballon filler added to the WEST EPOXY to form fillets for strength. Later , I use
epoxy with acetone to thin it to a water like consistency. I then "paint" the entire wood set
with this mixture. The acetone carries the glue deep into the pores of the plywood, and when
fully cured (24 hours) the wood strength is doubled. (factory models are sealed from factory)
I go one step further after this sandiing the major areas and re-coating with hard coat of
                                      epoxy .

                                     ..        ..
Retracts as installed from factory...I remove them to add some extra glue to the joints and
beef them up! Also , make sure you locktite all of the retract bolts for final assembly.

                                      ..         ..

I use 1/8 inch "TESA" tape for flexible curves. 1/8" for windows , 1/4" for batt. hatch. Since this
bird has so much "under glass" and even though the glass is mighty thick around the windows
I will add some carbon down the windshield beam, around the doors to stiffen and strengthen
these areas , I have done this on my all of my vario a-star's,Bell 230's ,ec-135's and other birds
that have a lot "under- glass". You really dont need to do this  , but I like to build them to last a
lifetime...or so I hope! Remember this is just my way of doing it...overkill ...oh well !
