PROJECT: Turbine BK-117 Page 2

,,,,,,
The fueling/charging/data cluster that will be added to the woodwork seen in this second pic. Here is
the humble start of my turbine bracket, I chopped the wood, added three mounting blocks and bulkheads
with six 4mm bolts to retain the mechanics. The bracket will recieve extensive lighting holes and a
addtional rear support set in the works.  The whole thing is made on a CNC mill using T-6016 alu for
extra peace of mind. Angles are milled from solid barr stock. You can also see the slight inclination I
put into the mechs, there is about 1.5 degrees of foward tilt, and the mechs sit off to one side just tad
so it hovers level just the like the BO-105 CBS!

.....
Change in my original plan, I am using the NH-90 system here . I only took the robbe bearing adaptor
added a sleeve of silicone tube and press fit the 10 alu tube into the bearing holder. This then slides into
this short pice of boom which holds the end perfectly hubcentric. There is a 10mm droop to whole wire along
its length and it mates up with mechs straight on by the time they there since the anlge of the mechs is leaning
forward, this arc in the drive is a pefect match. There is absolutely no vibration with system.

...... .
This is it installed and ready to be trimmed for the angle gear box. The angle gear box with wire drive ends.

    .. ...
Here is the support for the wire drive up front, there will be one more further up closer to the mechs.

.......
The tail flange that used to be... I made a new bulkhead out of 1/4" ply, The installed piece, the edges
are beveled so the epoxy can form and "mechanical trap". I still need to paint it , add hole for pushrod
and reinstall the lights.
......
The side braces are made from 1/8' ply with 10x12mm channel. I use a flooring tool to get
the contour of the fuse sides, make cardboard templates first and get them perfect then
transfer them to the ply.

.....
No jet-build up would complete with my pride and joy JetCat! (Jodi). Here is the mount I made to hold
the end of the
end of the boom  to the mechanics. Light , simple and strong !
