back to another On-line support build-up! These pages are designed to clarify
and
augment
(not replace) the building instructions for the 4442 AS-350B kitt from
Graupner Modellbau
of
Germany. We'll take you from the start to finish of this new addtion to
the fine line of Graupner
Helicopters.
This kit includes a lot of extras including cockpit parts , scale landing
gear , panel lines
and
authentic proportions as per the full size counterpart. Enjoy!

We have several choices of ways to power this
model, the Uni-2000 system, Uni-Expert and Uni-Elektro system
(not shown but same as Uni-Expert). I will
briefly go over the differences. The Uni-2000 has CNC machined gears
with larger layshaft and extended mainshaft (10mm)
and can accept .61-.91 (over 3 hp) size motors and turn blades
from 688 mm to 825 mm long. All alu-clutch ,
swashplate and fully ballraced rotor system make this the most versatile
choice for just about any scale application.
Ratios from 7.1:1 to 10:1 are available depending upon the power plant
and blades used.
The Uni-Expert system can
be upgraded at any time later to Uni-2000 specs but is primarily the "sport"
choice for scale
and accepts the powerful .61 WC class motors
(2.4 hp) with 9:1 ratio as standard. Both systems are very suitable for
this model including the 30 cell Elektro system
which also swings the 688 mm blades with ease. (688 mm flat semi or sym.
blades are used on this model only)

You can also use or start with a Uni-Star
60 kit or Ultra-Star 2000 (shown) to start
with or tune with. We will be using
the 2258 muffler and the 4448.103 hex start adaptor
as standard items for this build. Motors can be seen
here.

Here is the kit contents.... pre-cut/CNC
machined body, CNC cut woodwork, cockpit parts with all the
fittings included and smoked glazing (windshield
is pre-cut). I am very impressed with the scale definitions
on the body as well and will show close ups of
that as we move on.

Cockpit fittings, carbon stabilizer rod
and even scale headlights and beacon are included with kit. The cockpit
floor is plywood as seen in this second pic and
bolts down for easy removal. Its recomended that some the radio
components go under the floor, Gyro, etc....
Carbon fiber tail pushrod is standard.
