Looking in from the top the unit is shown
here. Comes with self adhesive cutting template to the install a snap!
Here we show the front retract servo and mounting
plate dry fit at this stage. I like to tack everything until I am
sure everything lines up with retract unit itself.
You see some of the epoxy work done, but only as far back
as the second bulkhead... this way I can remove
the main retract bulkhead for any final adjustments and fitting.
......
Again, dryfit pieces show
rear most bulkhead fitted. Also shown are the main retract servo pieces
and fuel tank
wells. Fuel tanks will be mounted upright in
these wells, which happens to be right dead center of the mainshaft. As
fuel is used, balance remians unchanged. More
on this later in the build.
.......
Front retract is in place
waiting for final glue up. You can adjust the height of #18 bulkhead to
adjust nose gear
angle. Standard servo is used here with heavy
duty arm.
